In economic news:

New unemployment numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show Louisiana lagging behind the nation in every major metropolitan area. Lake Charles had the lowest unemployment at 3.5 percent, whereas the Monroe, Shreveport and Alexandria areas had the highest unemployment at 5.1 percent. The U.S. rate is 3.5 percent.
