PBS NewsHour featured Louisiana’s natural resources in a piece about corporate tax exemptions. The piece focuses on facilities concentrated in the Lake Charles area and a growing movement to limit corporate tax exemptions for heavy industry projects – or otherwise require them to hire locals and show how they are benefiting the community. Louisiana spends $2,857 per resident on corporate subsidies per capita versus the $291 per resident national average.
