New numbers from the Bureau Labor Statistics (BLS) reveal that education and health care are still king when it comes to available employment across the country. On the last business day of February 2017, there were 5.2 million private industry job openings generally. Almost one-quarter of those job openings were in the education and health services industry, which had 1.3 million job openings. Professional and business services had 1 million job openings on the last business day of February, accounting for the next-largest share of private industry job openings. Mining, logging, and information had the greatest losses since February of last year.
