Real average hourly earnings for all private nonfarm employees increased 0.4 percent from October 2016 to October 2017, according to new Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers. The increase in real average hourly earnings combined with no change in the average workweek resulted in a 0.4-percent increase in real average weekly earnings over this period.
