The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has ranked the top 25 workers’ compensation insurance companies and groups by market share of direct premiums written for 2015. Direct written premiums totaled about $57.2 billion for the top 25, an increase from 2014’s $54.92 billion. The top 25 carriers also accounted for 69.15 percent of the total direct premiums written, with the top 10 bringing in 46.23 percent, or about $26.44 billion. The top four carriers represent just under a quarter (23.42 percent) of total direct premiums written. Travelers takes the top spot this year, followed by the Hartford and Zurich.
