The Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) and Ochsner Health System have partnered to expand the successful Ochsner Medical Assistant Training Program and will host two information sessions next week to recruit persons interested in becoming certified Medical Assistants. The comprehensive six-month program consists of instructor-led and online classes, as well as lab practicum and supervised clinical activities. Students will also receive hands-on training through clinical rotations in various departments at Ochsner facilities. The information sessions will be held on Monday, December 11 at 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Hazel Hurst Community Center in Jefferson, La. The Medical Assistant training program is tuition-free for eligible candidates.
