The Louisiana Property & Casualty Insurance Commission noted that the workers’ compensation market in the state “remains competitive” in its annual report to the Legislature for 2014-2015. Other points in the Commission’s assessment of the workers’ comp market include:

  • lost-time claim frequency decreased and medical severity increased in 2012
  • premium volume increased in 2013
  • market wide insurance premium decreased 1.9 percent last year
  • there is an overall statewide 2.4 percent decrease approved for 2015 rate filings
