The Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation is seeking input on the development of a new “Compound Medications Plan-Based Audit” for physicians that prescribe compound drugs. In an announcement issued March 25th, the Division states that the audit sets the scope, methodology, selection criteria, and program area responsibilities as laid out in the Medical Quality Review Process through the state’s office of the Medical Advisor. The proposed document indicates that the data will be collected individually, with the “appropriateness of a doctor’s decision and recordkeeping for prescribing compound drugs” as the key determination. System participants can submit suggestions for the audit by email to OMA@tdi.texas.gov by 5 PM Central on Friday, April 8th, 2016.
