Texas has introduced a “comprehensive” medical marijuana bill in the state House. Sponsoring Representative Marisa Marquez told the media after the announcement that “it’s time for the Texas legislature to have this important conversation and adopt access to medical marijuana into law.” House Bill 2785 is about 40 pages long and addresses many limitations for use. Similar to Georgia’s recent legislation, the Texas bill mainly expands access for patients with “debilitating” conditions for which marijuana has been proven effective, including Lou Gehrig’s disease, Parkinson’s, and PTSD.
