Local corporation Gisclair and Associates, Inc. is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this year. Bob Gisclair founded the company that bears his name in 1984, and it has grown from a one man operation into a multidisciplinary corporation and local success story with offices in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Shreveport and New Orleans.
Gisclair’s announcement of the anniversary date, reveals the true strength of this local pillar of vocational rehabilitation and related services. Gisclair stated in the letter: “On [September 5th] 1984, Gisclair and Associates, Inc. opened its doors for business in Baton Rouge with one rehabilitation consultant (yours truly) and one office manager (Rhebe Conrad). Please allow me to send many thanks to all of our employees who have worked so hard over the years to make our company successful. It is with deep gratitude that I offer heartfelt thanks to our referral sources who have stood by us all these years.”
These days, from the 10101 Siegen Lane main office in Baton Rouge, owner Bob Gisclair can look back on the early days of G&A with clarity and pride, but the future was not always so secure. He explains, “When I left my employer to begin Gisclair and Associates, I was scared to death. I had two children and didn’t know what an adjustor did for a living. I worked cases in the daytime hours and did marketing in the evening.”
However, Gisclair maintains that the values that sustain G&A today sustained them in the past as well. He says, “I relied on the two things that keep us going today: honesty and hard work. I am thankful for all the people who appreciate those qualities. They remain with us today.”
Gisclair’s work ethic translates to the longevity of his voc rehab firm, where successful rehabilitation depends on commitment to cases and a desire to get it right for the injured worker and his/her employer. To that end, Gisclair and Associates has recently revamped its website for ease of use, and over the years has made additions to its services. G&A now offers a wider range of services than simply voc rehab. They are also equipped to provide: job analysis, life care planning, medical case management, expert testimony, and Medicare Set-Aside (MSA) allocation recommendations.
And it isn’t just the company’s namesake who sings its praises: G&A employees are proud to pass this new milestone as well. Whitney Jenkins, a marketing representative for Gisclair who started with the company last November, explained: “I have done marketing for a few different companies in different industries throughout the years and there is one thing I have learned for sure – it is impossible to truly be successful in marketing a service or product if you don’t stand behind it one hundred percent. The thing I love most about us is the respectable reputation Gisclair holds in the workers’ comp industry here. It allows me to be more confident and passionate when I talk to others about our company, knowing I believe in what we bring to the table.”
That passion and confidence that Jenkins describes is where Gisclair really shines as a local success story. Cheers to the next thirty years!
