The Reading Eagle has published a feature on the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program. More than 104,000 sick workers have received almost $11 billion in Federal compensation and medical expense payments since the program began in October 2000. Many of the workers’ illnesses are linked to exposure to nuclear substances during the Cold War.
