In CMS news:

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services yesterday issued a notice that payers can now identify claimants using just the last five digits of their Social Security Number (SSN) rather than the full, when reporting settlements, judgments and awards. The rule will go into effect on January 5, 2015 and is in accordance with Section 204 of the Strengthening Medicare and Repaying Taxpayers Act of 2012 (SMART Act.)
