Three participants in an Oklahoma-based substance recovery program located at a chicken processing plant, uncovered in part by workers’ compensation records, are suing the facility. The trio allege that they were forced into de facto slave labor and are going after both Christian Alcoholics & Addicts in Recovery, and Arkansas-based Simmons Foods. A report by The Center for Investigative Reporting on the issues at the facility was published last week.
