Median weekly earnings of the nation’s 117.6 million full-time wage and salary workers were $908 in the second quarter of 2019, according to new Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers. This was 3.7 percent higher than a year earlier, compared with a gain of 1.8 percent in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) over the same period. Median weekly earnings for women were $814, or 81.4 percent of the median of $1,000 for men.
