Governor John Bel Edwards and CEO Soon Hyo “Steve” Chung of Lotte Chemical USA announced the company will establish its headquarters in Lake Charles, where the corporate office will join Lotte Chemical USA’s $1.1 billion monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant under construction at the junction of Interstates 10 and 210. Together, the MEG plant and corporate headquarters will create 130 new direct jobs, with an average annual salary of more than $80,000, plus benefits. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the combined facilities will result in more than 1,200 permanent new indirect jobs, along with more than 3,000 construction jobs.
