In economic news:

There were nearly 12.3 million jobs in nonprofit organizations in 2016, according to new Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers. That was 10.2 percent of total U.S. private sector employment. The District of Columbia had the highest percentage of nonprofit employment, 26.0 percent. Nevada had the lowest share of nonprofit employment, 2.7 percent. Louisiana non-profit employment stands at 8 percent, in line with the region but lower than the rest of the country.
