The Texas DWC has released its recent enforcement actions. Beginning January 1, 2015, through April 30, 2015, the Commissioner of Workers’ Compensation has ordered administrative penalties totaling $549,500 for system participants. The penalties include $487,800 in fines ordered for insurance carriers, $40,700 in fines ordered for health care providers, and $21,000 in fines ordered for other entities. The recent report also publishes the names of seven clinicians that have been permanently or temporarily removed from the “designated doctor” list to provide care to injured workers and MMI evaluations.
