A bulletin issued in April by the National Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals (NAMSAP) but just now making the rounds says that the Medicare Set-Aside program of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services “encourages, intensifies and effectively orders long-term opioid use and abuse by Medicare beneficiaries.” The organization has sent a letter to every member of Congress in an attempt to change CMS’ policy of lifelong opioid allocations.
