A survey from the National Business Group on Health (NBGH), a nonprofit association of 425 large employers, found that 90 percent of employers will make telemedicine services available to employees in states where it is allowed next year, a sharp increase from 70 percent this year. The major drivers for the change are cost and efficiency. Employers are also leveraging the fact that most people have a smartphone with which to access healthcare. The trend buoys a similar push in the workers’ comp arena among large employers.
