A settlement has been reached with the families of some of the victims of the West, Texas, fertilizer explosion that killed 15 people and leveled part of the town two years ago. According to an Insurance Journal report, the website of McLennan County, where a trial over the claims was set to begin, published a post telling jurors they were excused because a settlement had been reached. No additional details about the settlement were provided. The owners of the West Fertilizer Co. had just $1 million in liability coverage when damage from the explosion exceeded $200 million. Authorities never determined how the fire started.
