South African firm Sasol Ltd. announced that five Baton Rouge-based construction firms have been awarded a total of more than $1 billion in contracts to construct its $8.1 billion ethane cracker in Lake Charles. According to the Baton Rouge Business Report, “Cajun Constructors and James Industrial Constructors will perform site civil works on the project, including site preparation, piling and foundation work. ISC Constructors and MMR Constructors, meanwhile, will perform electrical and instrumentation work. Turner Industries will conduct mechanical, structural steel and piping work.”
