Slidell’s airport is one of five in Louisiana receiving grants for rehabilitation and construction projects. The federal grants total more than $1.5 million. Slidell’s airport will receive $419,934 to help fund the application of a new seal coat to taxiway pavement which will help maintain the structural integrity of the taxiway and minimize foreign object debris. The Hammond Regional Airport and the Houma-Terrebonne Airport Commission and the Union Parish Airport in Farmerville will also receive federal money for various development projects.
