Louisiana ranks No. 7 in best places for women to start a business, according to a study generated by Thumbtack. Thumbtack, an employment site, had its analysts study their proprietary marketplace data to determine the places where women are most optimistic about their prospects (i.e., where they’re happiest running a business) and surveyed 20,557 women from January to June 2016 who own small businesses on the site. Seven of the top 10 cities for women to start a business are in the South. Also, female business owners in southern states are the most optimistic and the most likely to find their governments supportive.
