U.S. Department of Labor officials said last week that a Louisiana subcontractor was erroneously paying laborer’s wages to three skilled workers on a federally-funded housing project in Baton Rouge. The employer, Pete’s Plumbing of Livingston Parish LLC, has agreed to pay more than $33,000 in back wages for shorting plumbers by nearly $11 an hour over the course of the project.
