Eight people were injured, including one critically, when a gas line burst yesterday at Entergy’s Michoud power plant in New Orleans East around 1:10 PM. Firefighters rescued the critically injured man, who was stuck face down in a trench when they arrived and eventually transferred to the hospital by helicopter. According to a statement from Entergy, the gas line has been secured, there is no current gas leak, and there is no danger to the public. The cause of the accident is unknown.
