In local news:

Free training workshops designed to help River Parish residents launch careers in the film industry will be held on Wednesday, January 31st at 10 AM and 6 PM at the Edward Dufresne Community Center in Luling. The events were postposed last week after icy weather conditions shuttered operations throughout much of South Louisiana. The two-hour sessions, hosted by the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) and the New Orleans Video Access Center (NOVAC), are open to persons 18 years and older who are interested in learning more about working in the film industry and being involved in future NOVAC workshops in the River Parishes.
