U.S. District Judge Lance M. Africk has accepted the guilty plea of a Slidell postal worker for defrauding the federal workers’ comp system. The 40-year-old submitted fraudulent requests for reimbursement to the U.S. Department of Labor during her treatment for an on-the-job ankle injury and then for more than a year afterward. She faces a minimum of five years in prison, a maximum $250,000.00 fine, and up to three years of supervised release.
