The Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) released a statement on the death of Representative Alfred Williams, former Chairman of the House Labor and Industrial Relations Committee. LWC Director Curt Eysink said, “In the short time we worked together, Representative Alfred Williams spent his energy on the issues he believed were of utmost importance to his constituents and his city. As chairman of the House Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations, he was always direct, forthright, professional, and extremely personable. He got to know the Louisiana Workforce Commission well and played an important role in improving Louisiana’s workforce development system as the author of reform legislation on behalf of the agency. He will be missed by those of us at the Workforce Commission who had the privilege of working with him, and by many, many people whose lives are so much better because of his service.”
