New commentary by Kenneth Finn, MD, in Pain Medicine News addresses the lack of research on medical marijuana in the treatment of various common pain conditions and critiques Colorado’s “blurred lines” between recreational and medical use. Finn explains: “The use of marijuana for medical conditions, including pain, needs robust studies, and subsequent products need more regulation and consistency for public consumption.” Finn appears to support the rescheduling of marijuana to Schedule II so as to control growing conditions and standardization of THC content.
