A new study in Spine found that cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based stress reduction are two treatments for chronic low back pain that are more cost-effective than usual care alone. Clinical outcomes were assessed by telephone interviewers at baseline and at four, eight, 26 and 52 weeks. The main effectiveness outcome was change in quality-adjusted life-years.
