A new “painimation” tool could help patients better describe their pain status. Researchers from the Center for Behavioral Health and Smart Technology at the University of Pittsburgh led investigators from Carnegie Mellon University, also in Pittsburgh, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and Duke University, in Durham, N.C., in the design and implementation of an iOS app that gives chronic pain patients a means of illustrating their pain, literally.
