Two FDA advisory committees will meet jointly this week to evaluate two new abuse-deterrent opioids, one of which is an immediate release pill and potentially the first of its kind to incorporate anti-abuse technology. The FDA will evaluate how the medication should be taken (with or without food) which has caused potency issues with both of the formulations in clinical trials.
