In misclassification news:

The Department of Labor has awarded $10,225,183 to 19 states to implement or improve worker misclassification detection and enforcement initiatives in unemployment insurance programs. Several states already have programs that address this issue but this is the first time that the DOL has dedicated funds to such state-level initiatives. Louisiana is not one of the states that will receive funds from the DOL, even though “independent contractor” misclassification in several major Louisiana industries including construction and oil and gas, remains a persistent problem.
