The Work Loss Data Institute (WLDI) has withdrawn its “Official Disability Guidelines” from the National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC; guideline.gov). The move comes after NGC dropped ODG from its list of approved guidelines last month. NGC stated at the time that ODG was not approved in its most recent iteration because it insufficiently explained the source texts and studies for its evidence. At the time WLDI said that they were in negotiations with the NGC to get the guidelines re-admitted. Now, WLDI has said that it will withdraw the guidelines because the version on the Guideline.gov site “misrepresented the ODG.” In the company’s statement, WLDI President Phil Denniston said: “Commercial guidelines are successful at improving outcomes because they are comprehensive and up to date, and that is our mission. For that reason, we will not be submitting future guidelines to NGC.”
