President Trump announced at a press conference yesterday that R. Alexander Acosta, dean of Florida International University College of Law is the new pick to lead the U.S. Department of Labor. The original choice, CKE Restaurants CEO Andrew Puzder, withdrew Wednesday after a series of damaging scandals and bipartisan opposition. Acosta also served as assistant attorney general for the Department of Justice under President George W. Bush, and is the first Hispanic person nominated to Trump’s cabinet.
