WCRI held its annual conference in Boston last week. Andrew G. Simpson, writing for Insurance Journal, explained his takeaways in a new article. As Simpson saw it, the conference encouraged a re-working of the understanding of workers’ comp’s responsibilities. In his words: “After decades of managing costs for employers, it’s time for workers’ compensation professionals and public policymakers to turn their attention to the needs of injured workers and think of themselves more as players in a broader safety net.”
