The Bureau of Labor Statistics published new figures on Summertime seasonal employment. Industries that peak in the Summer include: amusement parks; RV parks and campgrounds; recreational and vacation camps; golf courses and country clubs; marinas; hotels and motels (except casinos); nursery, garden, and farm supply stores; and historical sites and other similar institutions. In amusement parks and arcades, employment in July 2007 was 198,200. Employment during peak periods remained flat until July 2012, where employment reached 226,800. This represented a 14.4-percent increase from July 2007 to July 2012. Since July 2012, employment increased to 261,900 in July 2016, a 15.5-percent increase from July 2012 and a 32.1-percent increase from July 2007.
