NHL enforcer Mike Peluso’s legal counsel has had a gag order and fine retracted in his client’s workers’ compensation case against four NHL teams. Workers’ Compensation Judge Alicia D. Hawthorne originally levied the order and a $1,500 fine against Peluso’s attorney after he violated a verbal agreement that neither legal camp would involve the media; this action was later declared outside of her authority. Peluso filed his comp claim in 2012, alleging that four of his five teams failed to provide adequate protection and medical treatment. Peluso says that he has suffered permanent brain damage as a result of his career and spent thousands of dollars on surgeries, anti-seizure medication and other treatments to improve his quality of life.
