Florida is again considering expanding workers’ comp coverage to PTSD for first responders in the wake of the Pulse nightclub shooting. Florida state Senator Victor Torres and Florida state Representatives Amy Mercado, and Carlos Guillermo Smith responded last week in particular to Corporal Omar Delgado, who was recently dismissed from his job with the police department after failing to return to full duty after the attack. Several bills now filed in Florida would expand benefits, but the potential for success is unclear given that similar efforts were undertaken last year.
