NCCI announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Stephen J. Klingel plans to retire in February 2016. According to an NCCI press release, Klingel came to the organization in late 2002 and is recognized as having the third longest CEO tenure in the company’s 90-plus year history. Klingel previously served as the Senior Vice President of Commercial Lines with The St. Paul Companies (now part of Travelers.) In nearly three decades with St. Paul, he held a variety of key roles in the company, including President, Personal Insurance; Regional President of the Upper Midwest Region; Vice President of Commercial Underwriting, and Vice President/General Manager. NCCI has not yet announced a successor.
