The Oklahoma Attorney General urged a judge yesterday to find Johnson & Johnson guilty in the first case of its kind across the country. The state accused J&J of being a “kingpin” in the opioid crisis and of misleading doctors and patients about the addiction risk of its painkillers Duragesic and Nucynta. The verdict will have implications for thousands of other suits brought by municipalities and states across the country against J&J as well as OxyContin maker Purdue, among others.
