ACOEM released a statement on marijuana and the implications for workplace safety. In the statement (Legalization of Marijuana – Implications for Workplace Safety), ACOEM notes that 33 states have legalized medical or recreational use of marijuana and advocates for a better regulatory control of marijuana products:

“Marijuana is an impairing substance and its legalization has huge public health implications. Before Congress passes any legislation regarding marijuana, the College urges that the impact of such legislation on workplace safety be considered.”
