In Mississippi, SB2193, which creates a new license for workers’ comp adjusters, passed with the input of the Mississippi Association of Self-Insurers (MASI). The bill creates parity with other states and echoes the bill currently under consideration in the Louisiana Legislature, which would remove the workers’ comp exception to adjuster licensure and create an exam for industry participants. That bill is up for a hearing tomorrow in the House Insurance Committee.
