Texas is considering several workers’ comp bills to expand benefits to first responders. The Texas House Committee on Business and Industry heard testimony on more than half a dozen workers’ compensation-related measures this week. HB1983 would allow firefighters and peace officers to obtain workers’ compensation benefits for job-related post-traumatic stress disorder. HB2082 would establish a liaison to help first responders in disputes over workers’ comp claims.
