Explosions and one worker hospitalization have been reported this morning at a flooded chemical plant in Crosby, Texas. The Harris County Emergency Operations Center reported explosions and black smoke coming from the Arkema chemical plant. According to the Houston Chronicle, Arkema said Harris County officials notified the company about the explosions around 2 AM Thursday, adding that residents may hear additional explosions because the organic peroxide made there is stored in multiple locations within the plant, which is 25 miles northeast of downtown Houston. The hospitalization was a deputy securing the perimeter who inhaled fumes.
