The average total cost per workers’ compensation claim in Florida has grown moderately in recent years, according to WCRI’s latest CompScope Benchmarks report for the state. WCRI VP and counsel Ramona Tanabe notes in a press release that the findings from this study primarily reflect the performance of the workers’ compensation system before the 2016 Castellanos and Westphal Florida Supreme Court decisions, which some believe will cause a spike in costs in that state.
