In neighboring news:

Tuesday was Deadline Day for committees to report general bills originating in each house of the Mississippi Legislature. The Mississippi Association of Self-Insurers (MASI), which tracks workers’ comp and health bills affecting the self-insurance industry in the state, reported yesterday that all of the workers’ comp related bills have died. In particular, MASI identifies HB 506 and SB 2213 (which would have increased the maximum total recovery and removed the cap on permanent total disability) as victories by default. Health bills of interest remain on the floor.
