The Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has recently approved one company and renewed nine companies to self-insure for workers’ comp in the state. The department notes that there are currently 36,243 employees working for a self-insured company there. The latest new self-insurance certificate was issued to Space Exploration Technologies Corp. based out of Washington, D.C. Renewed certificates went to: International Paper Company, Louisiana-Pacific Corporation, Textron, Procter & Gamble, Weyerhaeuser Company, Jacobs Engineering, Mount Vernon Mills Inc., PACCAR Inc., and Ascension Health Alliance.
