Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Commissioner Denise Engle announced her resignation late last week, effective May 27th. Engle, the inaugural Commissioner to the reformed Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Commission, which transformed the state’s system into an administrative one and instituted a controversial opt-out provision, will return to the private business sector. According to a NewsOK report, Oklahoma Governor Fallin has appointed Mark Liotta, chief deputy of the Tulsa County Board of Commissioners and a former state lawmaker, to replace Engle. Engle has accepted an executive position with Arthur J. Gallagher.
