The Trump administration has extended the opioid public health emergency, days before that declaration was set to expire. On Friday, Health and Human Services (HHS) acting Secretary Eric Hargan signed an extension for another 90 days, effective tomorrow. Since the original declaration, it has remained unclear how resources will be allocated and utilized to help curb opioid addiction.
